A medicine that transforms
 At the turn of the year, I had the opportunity to visit the Mutum Village, of the Yawanawá people, in search of the sacred medicines of the forest. During my stay, I tried several types of rapé, but there was one in particular that profoundly marked my experience.

 When I consecrated the rapé made by Runu Yawanawá , I felt such an intense spiritual force that my whole body shivered. It was as if the spirit of this medicine was powerfully present. I went to find out who the maker was and had the honor of meeting Runu himself.

 Runu Yawanawá is one of the guardians of the village's medicinal plants, a profound connoisseur of his people's traditional medicines. He dedicated his life to studying plants and undertook the powerful Muká Diet , the most sacred of the Yawanawá, with the purpose of deeply connecting with the spirit of rapé (a type of snuff) and improving its preparation.

 Each step of the preparation is done with respect, ritual, and tradition, calling upon the spirit of the rapé to enter the medicine and strengthen its energy. The spiritual power of Runu rapé is recognized and respected by everyone in the village, being considered a unique and special medicine.

 The snuff used by the Yawanawá is made from tsunu , a medicinal plant with extraordinary power. Interestingly, tsunu was the first medicinal plant to have its chemical structure studied by botanists, due to its great potential for healing and connection.
